We have had a busy first week back after Easter. We have stared our new topic called People Who Help Us.
Wednesday was very exciting because we had a visit from the fire service. They brought a fire engine for us to see. They also talked to us about some of the equipment they use and the special jobs they do.
In our creative work we have painted some amazing pictures of fire engines.
This week we have thought about all the different people who help us and have painted pictures for our display. We have written a label to go with our paintings. We have made a fantastic fire station using boxes, pictures and labels and have enjoyed playing with this throughout the week.
In our outside area we have really enjoyed playing in our mud kitchen using all our kitchen utensils.

We have had a busy time in the Ladybirds finding out about all the people who help us. We had a visit from a Doctor and the Police. They told us about some of the things they do to help us. In our classroom we have set up a vet clinic and have really enjoyed looking after our toy animals. We had a visit from a vet which helped us to learn more about looking after animals.
In our creative activities we have made some homes for our pets and have sung songs about animals. We have enjoyed putting actions to our songs.
In our number work we have been naming and describing 2D and 3D shapes. We had fun looking for shapes around the classroom.

We have had an exciting week. We have started our topic on Splish Splash Splosh and have read a story about a pirate. We found out that we knew lots of things about pirates so we painted pictures for our display.
In our numeracy we have been taking away the treasure. In the sand tray we have had buried treasure to find and count. We have explored different ways of dressing like a pirate and have begun to build a pirate ship.
We have started to write our own adventure stories.

We have been so excited this week as we have been preparing for our trip to The Yorkshire Wildlife Park.
We had a fantastic time exploring the park and seeing the animals. The polar bears were walking around for us to see, the giraffes came out from behind the trees and we even saw the tiger. We were really lucky to see the leopard jumping from one of the high log posts to another. We also had fun following the map to see which way to go.
Back at school we have used our colour mixing skills to paint some wonderful pictures of giraffes and tigers.
